Building Bridges: Film Series

In October 2025, the Paisley Town Hall became a space for reflection, connection, and meaningful dialogue as we launched our very first Building Bridges: Film Series. Over two evenings, community members gathered to experience powerful documentaries that asked us to look inward, listen deeply, and explore what belonging and connection truly mean.

These film screenings interactive community experiences filled with guest speakers, shared stories, and thoughtful conversations that continued long after the credits rolled.

A Stop Gap Measure | October 17

We opened our series with A Stop Gap Measure, a documentary that amplifies real experiences of exclusion, accessibility barriers, and the challenges faced by those who often go unheard. This screening invited us to examine the spaces we live in and consider what belonging looks like for everyone.

Following the film, audience members engaged in an open discussion with guest speakers who shared personal insights and perspectives. The room filled with honest stories, compassionate questions, and a collective desire to imagine a more inclusive future.

Crossing the Divide | November 18

The second night featured Crossing the Divide, a documentary exploring the tensions, values, and hopes that shape our relationships with one another. The film asks a compelling question: What does it take to bridge the divides that separate us?

After the screening, participants joined an interactive dialogue led by local facilitators and guest speakers. Through small-group conversations and guided reflection, we explored what brings us together and what responsibilities we share in building understanding across differences.

A Space for Dialogue, Reflection, and Community

What made this Film Series special was the way the community showed up.

Both nights, the Town Hall was filled with people of all ages and backgrounds, ready to listen, ready to learn, and ready to connect. The discussions were thoughtful, vulnerable, and hopeful, reminding us how powerful it is to gather in shared spaces and explore big ideas together.

These screenings demonstrated the strength of Paisley’s spirit: curious, compassionate, and always willing to build bridges.
